Mark L. Cannon received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Nebraska and then attended Northwestern University for his Masters of Pediatric Dentistry. He completed his residency at Children’s Memorial Hospital and received his Diplomate status by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. He is a past president of the Illinois Society of Dentistry for Children, a Professor of Otolaryngology, Division of Dentistry at Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine, and a member of the International Association of Pediatric Dentistry. In addition to maintaining a large private practice in the suburbs of Chicago, he is the Research Coordinator of the residency program at Ann and Robert Lurie Children’s Hospital, Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Cannon is on the Executive Board and a Fellow of the American Academy for Oral and Systemic Health. Dr. Cannon has presented guest lectures at the University of Athens, Greece, Sao Paulista State University, UNESP, Aracatuba, Brazil, University of Texas- Houston, University of Alabama-Birmingham, University of California, Los Angeles, University of Southern California, Louisiana State University, Nova Southeastern University, CES Universidad (Medellin, Columbia) and at the University of Illinois, Chicago, Department of Pediatric Dentistry. He has had presentations to the following organizations; I.A.D.R./A.A.D.R., the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Society of Dentistry for Children, Academy of Dental Materials, World Congress of Biological Materials, International Association of Pediatric Dentistry, Pediatric Dental Association of Asia, Australasian Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, World Congress of Preventive Dentistry, Chicago Dental Society, Texas Dental Society, Utah Dental Society, Birmingham Dental Society, Mexican Association of Pediatric Dentistry, Brazilian Association of Pediatric Dentistry, Korean Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Hellenic Society of Pediatric Dentistry, American Academy for Oral and Systemic Health, Probiotics, Prebiotics, and New Food Congress (Rome) and the European Association of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Cannon has humbly accepted two invitations by the Karolinska Institutet, first to the Nobel Forum (2016) and secondly to the Nobel Assembly (2017). Most of all, Dr. Cannon is the proud father of five, all of whom are very accomplished. He is also a very proud grandfather!
Dr. DeWitt “Witt” Wilkerson joined Dr. Peter Dawson’s private practice in 1982 where he is a partner. This has provided invaluable clinical experience in a world renowned clinical culture. Dr. Wilkerson lectures world- wide on the subjects of restorative dentistry, dental occlusion, temporomandibular disorders, airway/dental sleep medicine, and integrative dental medicine. He serves as a Senior Faculty/Lecturer and Director of Dental Medicine with the Dawson Academy and has provided 600+ days of lectures and hands on instruction to over 4,000 dentists. His book, The Shift: The Dramatic Movement Toward Health Centered Dentistry, provides a step-by-step guide to implementing complete health through dentistry.
Dr. Wilkerson is Past-President of the American Academy of Oral Systemic Health (AAOSH) and Past-President of the American Equilibration Society (AES). Additionally, he is pleased to serve as Director of Dental Medicine at the Dawson Academy, Adjunct Professor of Graduate Studies, the University of Florida College of Dentistry, and former Associate Faculty and Special Lecturer, the L.D. Pankey Institute.
Lora received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene from The Ohio State University in 1995. Lora is a member of The American Academy for Oral Systemic Health (AAOSH) and a 2011 Preceptor for the BaleDoneen Method. She is currently training through Seeds Scientific Research & Performance (SSRP) completing their peptide program focusing on disease reversal and prevention at the cellular level. Her current passion is moving the profession of dental hygiene from symptom suppression to disease reversal.
Lora is a member of the ADHA, ODHA, and CDHA. She has previously served as Continuing Education Chair for the CDHA and as a liaison for the ODHA to the OSDB.
Lora has practiced as a clinical hygienist for over 27 years. She is currently the Director of Education and Training for Direct Diagnostics where she is responsible for educating and training colleagues in salivary diagnostics with emphasis in oral-systemic health.
Lora is a primary care coordinator for Dr. Gina Pritchard at the Prevent Clinic. She integrates her expertise in dental knowledge, managing patient care, and incorporating her passion of improving patients lives through integrating oral & general medicine into Practice.
Lora is also one of the co-clinical directors for the IDMSS, Integrative Dental Medicine Scholar Society. As a speaker and workshop coach she helps dental professionals to gain the knowledge and skills to begin addressing the dental patient’s complete health.
Lora was previously co-owner of Dental Hygiene Excellence coaching dental teams on her founded DHEmethod. She has been a key speaker, coach and consultant for over 20 years in the industry. In her spare time you can find her spending quality time with her family and reading oral systemic health research. One fun fact about Lora is that she was a figure skater for The Ohio State University.
