Fiscal Agent

The California Dental Hygienists’ Association Foundation (CDHAF) serves as a Fiscal Agent to help dental hygienists and CDHA components turn community oral health ideas into funded, compliant projects.

A Fiscal Agent is a qualified 501(c)(3) nonprofit that receives, manages, and oversees funds on behalf of a project that may not have its own nonprofit status or financial infrastructure.

As a fiscal agent, CDHAF:

• Receives and disburses grant or donated funds
• Provides financial oversight and accountability
• Ensures compliance with nonprofit and donor requirements
• Assumes legal and fiduciary responsibility for the funds

Many strong community oral health projects lack access to funding because they do not have:

• 501(c)(3) status
• Financial systems for grants
• Experience with reporting or compliance

CDHAF’s fiscal agent role removes these barriers—allowing you to focus on community impact, not paperwork.

Fiscal agency may be available for:

• Individual CDHA members
• CDHA components (local societies or districts)
• Student-, educator-, or pilot outreach programs

Projects must align with CDHAF’s mission to elevate the dental hygiene profession and advance oral health, particularly for underserved California communities.

CDHAF manages the funds—budgeting, payments, and financial reporting.

Project leaders manage the work—program delivery, outcomes, and narrative reporting.

This partnership ensures projects are both impactful and accountable.
