Lobby Day

Members come together annually for an important day of education and outreach at California’s State Capitol in Sacramento to advocate for the policies and priorities that most impact the dental hygiene profession. Lobby Day gives individual members the chance to meet with legislators and the CDHA lobbying team of Aaron Read & Associates (ARA) to achieve CDHA’s policy agenda.

With a unified voice and statewide representation, CDHA moves our legislative platform forward, which is centered on ensuring that:

  • State healthcare policies prioritize cost-effective prevention
  • Dental hygienists, as prevention specialists, comprise an available, educated and ready workforce that can be better utilized to help serve California's healthcare needs

Join us in Sacramento for CDHA Lobby Day!

Join us Monday, March 23, 2026 for a full day at the State Capitol advocating for our profession by opposing AB 1952. AB 1952 would direct the Dental Hygiene Board of California to license internationally trained dentists (ITDs) as dental hygienists if certain requirements are met—however, AB 1952 is the wrong approach.

Click here to learn why CDHA opposes AB 1952 and how you can take action.

Registration deadline: Friday, March 13, 2026 at 4:00 PM PT
